For all embodied beings who are tormented by the scorching fire of worldliness, Guru alone is the sure refuge. Having crossed the boundless ocean of samsara himself, the Guru lovingly guides the seekers who approach him with humility. Like the spring season, he is intent on doing good to others without any motive, purely out of his compassion and mercy.

Ma enlightens us that constant reflection on our real nature - Brahman, its attributes, is the effective means to shake off all our delusions and become illumined and fulfilled in life. Like the mirror which reveals our face clearly when the dust on its surface is removed, the mind too must be constantly rubbed with the thought of the Self. When the mind becomes calm and pure, the Self reveals itself.

When the disciple treads the path and attains the illumined state - that is the greatest joy and festivity for the preceptor!
