In this talk, Swamiji continues to discuss the meaning and significance of liberation.
He says that Moksha or liberation is often misinterpreted as freedom from rebirth. It is a religious concept. A seeker will have to outlive his/her religious beliefs and concepts. In order to tread the spiritual path, our general beliefs have to be reformed and raised to new dimensions. By repeated introspection, we have to understand that Moksha means freedom from the shackles of our mind, heart and intelligence.
Swamiji begins the 18th chapter by discussing the question of Arjuna seeking to know the essence of Sannyasa and Tyaga. Explaining them, he says that Sannyasa and Tyaga are the internal coordinates of the mind.
One who performs all actions renouncing the doer-ship and the subjective result of the work is a real sannyasi and a yogi. He understands that satisfaction is internal and does everything that comes in his way without any desire. The knowledge that his personality is a part of this nature and is functioning on its dictates makes him renounce his doer-ship and clinging towards his activities, says Swamiji.
