This is a series of talks delivered in Jamshedpur by Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha. In these talks, Swamiji has delved deep into each verse and explained them in a lucid manner, bringing everything to a sadhana level.
This is the concluding session where Swamiji discusses Krishna’s revelation of his most secret message to Arjuna. The pinnacle of spiritual pursuit is attained when one renounces all desires and surrenders himself to the divine will. Krishna tells Arjuna to abandon all dharma and adharma and simply take refuge at His feet (surrender to the Supreme).
Krishna says that those who give this most confidential knowledge to his devotees perform the greatest act of love and they are the most dear to him on this earth. Bhagavad Gita concludes with the pronouncement that wherever the Supreme Lord and his pure devotee are present, the light of the Absolute Truth will always vanquish the darkness of falsehood.
Discussing the last verse, Swamiji underlines the social dimension of Vyasa Deva. For society’s welfare we need both the seer of truth (like Krishna) and a ruler (like Arjuna). The truth seer is connected to the divine and is anchored in the Soul and he can guide the ruler. And the ruler, like Arjuna, has to work as an instrument of the Divine. This is the way that divinity can work in society.
