Overcoming the Delusion of Duality
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this track, taking a verse from Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji explains that man suffers from a delusion of Dvandva (duality).
What is the dvandva delusion? We strongly differentiate between sukha and duhkha. We have a strong preference towards sukha, a prejudice towards duhkha.
Swamiji explains that in both the experiences of Sukha and Duhkha, our own inner presence (I) is alone evident or expressed. Unable to understand this, we differentiate between them due to a delusion. When this delusion is overcome, the mind becomes calm, and one starts worshipping God with a stability, poise and definiteness.
Shlokas chanted in the track:
येषां त्वन्तगतं पापं जनानां पुण्यकर्मणाम् ।
ते द्वन्द्वमोहनिर्मुक्ता भजन्ते मां दृढव्रताः ।।
(Bhagavad Gita-7.29)
