Assimilation of Interactional Impacts II

Poojya Swamiji says that the sole focus in spirituality is the inner Consciousness. Even in the interactional state, the sole focus must be within.

The Consciousness activates the senses which results in interactions. All interactions bring about only two resultants–Sukha and Duhkha. Both sukha and duhkha are experiences that occur in the level of consciousness. One should not get ruffled by duhkhas or elated by sukhas because the substance in both is the same.

Thinking that the same consciousness is producing duhkha and producing sukha, that sameness should give you a poise and steadiness, says Swamiji.

If the interactions cause any agitation in the mind, they have to be assimilated or dissolved by the same mind. One does not have to assimilate anything alien. The mind has to assimilate only its own responses.
