This is the concluding discourse of the three-day series of talks held in Malaysia. Here, Swamiji discusses the goal of life which is to live life joyfully, beautifully and meaningfully.
Krishna gives the formula of Samatva (equalness) to deal with all challenges in life. Sukha (Happiness) and duhkha (misery) are the inevitable resultants of all interactions. They come without any effort on our part. They will emerge and subside. Understanding this, the Seeker must develop forbearance to Sukha and duhkha. The Goal of life is to understand and practice this inner mental forbearance.
All experiences are born in the mind, they subsist in the mind and also terminate in the mind. Mind is the originator of both the experiences and the reactions. Mind is resourceful enough to assimilate its own reactions. This practice of Samatva (evenness to sukha and duhkha) covers all problems of life. One has to learn to be comfortable and harmonious in both the states of happiness and misery.
Swamiji discusses the goal of both the meditative and interactional states. In meditation, leaving all desires one must remain content in one’s own inmost essence. This contentment one gets from one’s own Self is the goal of the meditative state. But in interactions, a seeker has to understand that the source and terminus of all interactions is the mind. All responses and impacts are also within. Knowing the power and potential of one’s own inner personality, one has to welcome and assimilate all impacts of the world.
