The essence of devotion consists in understanding the whole world to be a manifestation of God. The same God is living and shining in every being on earth. The Lord is not pleased with ostentatious worship. A worshipper should worship the Lord in a manner that the Lord will be pleased with.

God needs nothing from the devotee. In fact, everything we have is given by Him. So, a devotee must enjoy whatever God has given and enable others also to enjoy similarly. God is pleased when we serve humanity. To do that calls for an expansion of heart and dissolution of the ego.
