Ma Gurupriya

03 – by Swamini Ma Gurupriya – Narratives from Sreemad Bhagavatam

671 Views | 1 year ago

This talk is part of Malaysian Jnana Yajna 2013 (14 August 2013)

Chanting sublime shlokas and narrating nectarine stories from Srimad Bhagavatam, Ma Gurupriya ji takes the listeners to the banks of Ganges where Suka Maharishi and King Pareekshit are seated. In this Satsang, she speaks about a dialogue between King Nimi and nine Yogis where Bhagavata Dharmas are spoken of.

Yogi Kavi says that whatever one does—with the body, with speech, by the mind, by the senses, by the intelligence and because of one’s own innate tendencies—one should offer it to the Universal Lord. Through every work, one must associate with the Lord and see the Universal presence in everything. Thinking that the sky, earth, water, fire, air, all celestial objects, all elements, all directions, plants and trees, rivers and oceans, everything is the Lord alone, one must grow devotion for the Lord. When a seeker takes to this kind of a wholesome worship, he will develop more and more devotion and dispassion and he will Realize the Supreme Lord in his own heart.

Speaking about Prahlada, a great devotee of the Lord, Ma says that all seekers must identify with the devotion of Prahlada. His mind was always naturally flowing towards the Lord and he always felt embraced by the Lord. He felt that the only way to get rid of sorrow, delusion and fear, is to propitiate Lord Hari. He believed that learning to love the Lord and to be associated with the Lord constantly was the best form of education.
