Doing a recapitulation of the first few verses of Kaivalya Upanishad, Swamiji says that Ashvalayana approached Brahma, the creator, to be instructed about the rare and supreme knowledge- Brahma Vidya. By the attainment of the Supreme Knowledge, all the constrictions of the mind are transcended and man realizes his own identity.

This Supreme Knowledge is attained only when one has enough Shraddha (faith) and Bhakti (devotion), and diligently practices Dhyana Yoga (meditation which finally leads to a merger of Atma and Brahman.)

The text emphasizes that the Self cannot be attained through external activities, wealth, or worldly pursuits. Immortality and the realization of one's transcendental identity can only be achieved through renunciation and inner purification.

The text provides guidance for meditation. Practitioners are advised to select a secluded and undisturbed place, sit comfortably with a straight posture, and withdraw the mind from worldly thoughts. For a successful meditation, the Sadhaka must have both internal and external purity, he
must transcend the identification with worldly roles and restrain the senses. He must bow down with humility, gratitude, love and devotion to the Guru, to establish a deeper connection within.

Thus, preparing the surroundings and one’s own mind, one must meditate on the Absolute, untainted unaffected Brahman, which is clear, desireless and free of grief.
