Referring to Bhagavad Gita, Poojya Swamiji talks about the dialogue in which Krishna tells Arjuna that he must elevate himself by his own self.

A human birth is only to elevate our status as a human being. One must elevate oneself consciously, by efforts, discrimination and Viveka. One is one’s own friend and enemy. A simple verse that tells us exactly how to live as a human being.

Once our personality is refined, regulated and sublimated, it becomes our friend and if not, our enemy. The entire cause of everything lies within us, in our mind and intelligence. Therefore, we must elevate not by physical and sensory abilities, but by developing our discrimination.

The mind can be happy with a few things or with nothing and doesn’t depend on material possessions to generate the feeling of happiness. Therefore, the focus should be on our mind. We can reform it, enrich it to any extent by a mento-intellectual process and this is what spirituality is.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् ।
आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः ।।

Bhagavad Gita 6.5

बन्धुरात्मात्मनस्तस्य येनात्मैवात्मना जितः ।
अनात्मनस्तु शत्रुत्वे वर्तेतात्मैव शत्रुवत् ।।

Bhagavad Gita 6.6
