Infuse Introspection into your Mind
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Swamiji enlightens us about a conversation between King Sikhidhwaja and his wife Choodala in Yoga Vasishtha Ramayana. Choodala, a Self-Realized knower, believes that the spiritual goal can be attained by Vichara. Sikhidhvaja believes the goal is only attained by hard austerity and goes away for many years to the forest to perform austerities.
After years, through a conversation, Choodala is able to bring home to him that external renunciation has nothing at all in terms of substance and purpose. Renunciation has to be inner and ultimately it has to be of one’s very mind,
Swamiji condenses the dialogue and pronounces that mind is not gross or perceptible entity. It is experiential and expressive. By infusional introspection alone, the mind can be purified. So infusional, noble, spiritual, thoughts have to be infused in the mind to be purified. By Tattva Vichara alone, one can improve one’s spiritual, devotional and religious life.
