Sri Krishna introduces the concept of sacrifice or Yajna in Bhagavad Gita, saying that Yajna literally means offering some possession in the form of a dedication. Yajna is the effective means to get rid of our possessiveness and clingingness to our possessions. The travesty of human nature is that man spoils the very Yajna and makes it a selfish affair because of delusion.

Sri Krishna points out that everything becomes a Yajna provided it is done not for an individual’s sake but for the sake of Providence or God. The world belongs to God and He maintains it and all of us within the orbit of this world. Through various examples Swamiji explains how the invisible hand of Providence provides us with help whenever required. Whatever we seek and ask, Providence will give, provided we pray with intensity.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

तस्मादसक्तः सततं कार्यं कर्म समाचर ।
असक्तो ह्याचरन्कर्म परमाप्नोति पूरुषः ।।

Bhagavad Gita 3.19

तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर ।।
