Parallel Pursuits of God and The Self
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this audio, Swamiji enlightens us about the two parallel paths which a seeker pursues. One path is God. This God remains invisible and also infinitely distant. We try to praise Him, read about Him, think about Him etc. Another path is thinking about the self, reflecting upon the ‘I’, which remains absolutely unconditioned and immovable in us.
One has a mind which can reflect on the Self, and also the world. All Shastras emphatically point out that even the world we see is none other than the Self. When one hears this truth, one must have a dedication and sincerity to abide in it, to live the truth.
A seeker must understand the unassailable or unaffected nature of the Supreme Reality or God or Self. Using the intelligence, one must build up the mind to have a psychological sufficiency.
