Bhagavad Gita is a Gospel on Life
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Bhagavad Gita, initially, discusses and exposes the core of the human personality–the ‘I’, which is immortal. When one is able to understand and identify with one’s own real personality, then one can face the greatest of challenges of life.
Bhagavad Gita also discusses the place, purpose and philosophy of activity and interaction in life. Bhagavad Gita tells us that we don’t have to do anything but drop our choices, preferences and prejudices. The effort must be to make the mind un-constricted, flexible and assimilative, to be like the ocean and the space.
Swamiji urges everyone to evaluate and understand that Bhagavad Gita is not a religious gospel. It explains how to live life, how to look at the world and life and how to look at interactions between oneself and the world. In the Gita, Sri Krishna speaks about how one can live life joyfully, with contentment, without affectation. Swamiji urges listeners to share the message of Bhagavad Gita with others.
