Prabhata Rashmih – Making Devotion Wholesome

The Best Worship is using Mind and Intelligence

  • The Best Worship is using Mind and Intelligence

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this talk, Swamiji speaks about how worship must grow from traditional forms of ritualistic worship to the worship by one’s own inner faculties. In this form of worship, nothing external and elaborate is used to propitiate the Lord; like yagas, yajnas, havans and the like. External worship is offered as vocal renditions, in the form of loud chanting of Shlokas, Mantras and singing Bhajans.

In the highest form of worship, the higher faculty of the mind and intelligence is exclusively and continuously used unbrokenly to worship God – The Supreme Reality. Such an undivided, ultimate worship makes one discover that the entire external world is an expression and extension of the Divine Inner Presence. Hence all differences are nullified as everything and everybody is none other than the Lord alone. Knowing and applying this, liberates one from all inauspiciousness and unwelcome thoughts and deeds. Such a comprehensive form of vision, thoughts and deeds make the entire life a worship. All actions, thoughts, words and deeds are performed with no doubts and options, but only as an incessant worship of the Supreme Being.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:
यत्करोषि यदश्नासि यज्जुहोषि ददासि यत् ।
यत्तपस्यसि कौन्तेय तत्कुरुष्व मदर्पणम् ।।

Bhagavad Gita 9.27
