Based on Bhagavad Gita, four-day talk at CIRD Delhi, during Delhi Jnana Yajna 2023, 29 November 2023.

In this Satsang, Swamiji says that every interaction is bound to produce Sukha or Duhkha. They are natural, alternate responses of our own mind to every situation. No external factor is responsible for happiness and misery. It is the mind alone which is responsible for these alternate, inevitable experiences. Whoever is able to introspect on them and is able to evenize them and is not tormented by them, is fit for liberation.

The world is transitory. But the substratum, by which the entire world is pervaded, is indestructible. This imperishable substratum (I) is never destroyed by anything. It is only the bodies which are destroyed, not the Self. Whoever thinks that the ‘I’ is killed or has killed, does not know the Truth. The Soul is not born, nor does it die. Having existed, it does not cease to exist. It is unborn, eternal, changeless, most ancient and indestructible. Sri Krishna points out to Arjuna that everyone is the Soul, and so there is no death or destruction for a human being.

Sukha-Duhkhas are the inevitable resultants of all interactions. Introspecting on and understanding this, the mind must automatically generate evenness towards the twin resultants one is faced with. The mind naturally must be equipped with evenness towards happiness & misery, Victory & defeat and gain & loss.

In the Yoga path, the only factor that counts is the resolute nature of the intelligence. Swamiji urges seekers to introspect on and cultivate the evenness towards all dualities of life. By this, the effect of the Sukha-duhkhas on the mind becomes lighter and lighter and the mind becomes stable and poised.
