How to Introspect On a Verse

  • How to Introspect On a Verse

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this track, Swamiji speaks about the Sadhana of introspection on a shloka, which is a must for a true seeker. This Introspection is an inner, mental sadhana. One should try to bring the focus solely on the mind and bring about refinement and attunement in it.

Swamiji gives some examples of verses from the Bhagavad Gita and explains how one should focus on a verse and pick and choose important words. Unless we spend time in analyzing the whole verse, its message, we will miss its true import.

For this Sadhana, attention and alertness is called for. It must be deep research on the verse or even a single phrase. This Sadhana is the assiduous application of one’s own mind and intelligence.

Shlokas Chanted in the Track:

यस्त्विन्द्रियाणि मनसा नियम्यारभतेऽर्जुन ।
कर्मेन्द्रियै: कर्मयोगमसक्त: स विशिष्यते ॥

Bhagavad Gita 3.7

श्रद्धावाँल्लभते ज्ञानं

Bhagavad Gita 4.39
