In this Satsang, Swamiji makes a threadbare analysis of the Bhagavad Gita shloka 5.22 which is an evaluation about life, an analysis about the senses and their interaction with the world. He urges all seekers to introspect on it and make it their own.

Sri Krishna says that the delights which are born out of contact between the senses and objects, are wombs of misery, grief and agitation. They have a beginning and an end. A wise man does not rejoice over the sensory delights. By introspecting on this verse, a seeker will be led to Vairagya which is a great attainment.

Scriptures constantly underline the ephemerality of life. Everything in life is changeful, including the body. When one reaches old age, one finds that life is insipid. There is no attraction for sensory enjoyments, and life seems dry and meaningless. Life is transitory, like a dew drop hanging from the end of a tender blade of grass. Just as the dew drop may fall from the leaf any moment, the life of a human being may get terminated any moment.

A seeker must introspect and find that everything in life is coupled with fear and that Vairagya (dispossessiveness, not clinging to enjoyments) alone bestows fearlessness. Even if someone is a great scholar, there is constant fear of being defeated by an opponent in a debate. As an example, Swamiji narrates the story of 12-year-old Yamunacharya and how he defeated a learned and renowned court scholar in the Pandya kingdom.
