In these series of enlightening talks, Swamiji discusses the Taittiriya Upanishad and enables the listeners to understand the Upanishad better. He discusses the Mantras which explain the different Upaasanas that an aspirant of Truth can practice.

Bhuh (earth), Bhuvah (Antariksha) and Suvah (world of luminaries) are the Vyaahritis. Mahah is the light of the consciousness, which pervades the other three. The Upanishad says that the seeker can contemplate on the Vyaahritis as powers of nature, or as Vedas, or as Brahman, or as life-breaths. These Vyaahritis become the support or prop for the mind to attain more and more subtle levels.

The Upanishad then takes us from the grossness to our own within. It speaks about the contemplation of Brahman in the sky of the heart (Hridayakaasha). When we contemplate on Brahman, all the qualities of Brahman will adorn the heart and there will be a feeling of expansion. In the space within the heart lies the Purusha who is immortal, effulgent and made of mind-stuff or consciousness.

While meditating, there is an upward movement of awareness and finally there is a merger with the Paramatma. Piercing thought the two palates, through the uvula, and through the Indra-yoni (which is the place of manifestation of Indra or experience of Brahman), the Consciousness arises.

When there is the upward movement through the Indra-Yoni, the consciousness gets established in Agni, Vayu and Aditya. By this the practitioner experiences heat, vitality or brilliance. It is a living experience and finally it culminates in merging in Brahman.

The Upanishad says that in this state of merger, the practitioner attains Svaaraajya (kingdom of the Self). He becomes master of the mind, speech, sight, hearing and the intelligence. He is established in the Truth and his mind becomes blissful, peaceful and abundant. He revels in the expansive life energy.

Swamiji will be discussing 'Voice of Upanishads'. The Global Satsang will be based on Taittiriya Upanishad. | Live Satsangs with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST.
