Prabhata Rashmih - The Practice of Sadhana

Happiness can be obtained from the mind independent of objects

  • Happiness can be obtained from the mind independent of objects

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Swami Bhoomanand Tirtha emphasises how the Sukham/Joy that he experiences is infinite ectasy and totally generated from his own mind and intelligence within. He emphasises that the sukha is never from the objective world but from the very Subject within.

He speaks about how his life in the Ashram is joyful–being immersed in reading, writing, thinking of the various spiritual topics from the Sanskrit verses as described in the Scriptures. In addition, Swamiji also describes the parental joy he gets in meeting and taking care of all the devotees, who visit him in the Ashram from all over the world. This once again is the joyous ecstasy that he derives from within– sharing the wisdom and love.

Very touchingly, Swamiji mentions that every brick in the Ashram and every drop of blood in his body is the offerings made by His devotees. Thus Swamiji, through his Life lives with the Joy from the Subjective Mind within which is infinite and spatial like the expansive sky, and can never be got from the objective world.
