In this Satsang, Swamiji discusses the 5 th Chapter of Bhagavad Gita where Sannyasa (Renunciation) is discussed. What is Sannyasa? It is not abandonment of activities but renunciation of wrong notions, evaluations, desires, greed, possessiveness etc. One must seek to abandon all constrictions and delusions of the mind and ignorance of the intelligence, through mento-intellectual Sadhana. This leads to a state of fulfillment, unaffectedness, and peace.
The Yogi finds joy or Sukha within. He lives with inner happiness, reveling within himself. He gets illumination and direction from his own inner presence. He is an inward enjoyer and delighter. By becoming Brahman, he attains the exalted state of Brahma Nirvana (the ecstasy and freedom arising from Brahman).
Swamiji, recites and explains a few verses from his own Sanskrit composition on the sadhana of a seeker and the state of a Knower. Established firmly in the conviction that the inner Presence is the source and terminus of Sukha, a seeker must avoid desiring external objects. What is the state of a Knower? The mind of a knower is clear, placid and pure. All the functions of his mind also are pure, noble and delightful. He is forever guided by the inner light, vision. He is always sporting and reveling in his own inner domain. A Knower is established in Brahman and perceives the unity in all the diversity. A sense of fulfilment, placidity and calm is generated within him, due to non-expectation.
Bhagavad Gita says that the sages are interested in the welfare of all beings— ‘Sarva Bhuta Hite Rataah’. Emulating the sages, the seeker also must have concern, empathy and feeling for others. His mind must become expansive, to embrace the society, nation, and the globe.
