In this Satsang, Ma emphasizes that an aspirant of liberation must renounce evil traits and strive sincerely to cultivate divine qualities. The seeker must strive to reduce the effects of rajas and tamas in his personality and do everything aligned with Sattva guna.

When the Sattva guna increases, discrimination arises and the mind become brilliant, transparent, and sharp and the intelligence becomes clear and subtle. What are the benefits of cultivating sattva guna? When the sattva guna is more, all actions are done without desires and clinging. Not running after short-term happiness, one is contented. One does everything with joy, alertness, and perfection, not motivated by any desire. By sattva guna, the seeker progresses fast in his spiritual pursuit.

Divine qualities lead to liberation, whereas negative traits lead to bondage. By cultivating divine qualities, the mind becomes placid. Bhagavad Gita (16.1 to 3) lists twenty-six divine qualities which should be one-pointedly pursued by a seeker. All the qualities listed are related to the inner personality--the mind, and the intelligence.

Fear arises when one does not want to face something unpleasant or any loss in life. It also arises when one does not want to come to any harm from nature or other creatures. There is also fear of wishes not getting fulfilled and losing something or someone dear and precious. In this world, everything in life is coupled with fear. Vairagya alone bestows fearlessness. Fearlessness will come only when the mind is free from desire, possessiveness, and ego. Fearlessness can be had in the association of a Mahatma, who will constantly remind us about the goal of life.

We feel secure because family and friends are there to help us in times of need. But it does not always happen. So, how to get rid of fear? If one can create a family of beautiful qualities, then fear can be overcome easily. Ma quotes and explains a Subhashitam, which says that a Yogi who has qualities like composure, forbearance, calmness, truth, compassion, mind control, and knowledge as his family, has nothing to fear in life.
