Guru-Bhakti For Spiritual Growth
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this talk, Swamiji speaks about the role of a Guru (a spiritual teacher) in the life of a seeker. A Sadhaka must seek guidance from a Sadguru. Going to the Guru creates a new, unique relationship, which is centered solely on spiritual growth and progress.
One should constantly reflect on whether there is any true difference between the secular and spiritual life. The perceived difference between secular and spiritual life is artificial and all actions and interactions are inherently spiritual. Recognising this makes spirituality pervasive in everyday life and makes our life divine.
The Guru is a physical representation of the soul, of the ideal, of our attainment. So, when a seeker has Guru-bhakthi and Guru-sanga, everything becomes subservient to it. So, people with Guru-bhakti rise tremendously and fast in the spiritual life.
The progress in the spiritual path depends on the relationship with the Guru and how we internalize the Supreme wisdom he imparts to us.
