Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

037 – Bhagavad Gita – Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha – Who is a Sthita-dhi?

3823 Views | 3 years ago

Ropes can bind and waters can drown, but Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha in all his effulgence teaches us how to never get overpowered by either.

Having given us a solid picture of the sthitaprajna state, Swamiji now takes us to the interactive phase of such an exalted one. We have been told time and again that all the objects of the world are nothing but imprints in the mind. Swamiji dissects the three strands of the mind rope – raga (attraction), dvesha (repulsion) and bhaya (fear) – which are the roots of agitation and torment. Once we understand that our mind too is nothing but the imperishable Consciousness, just like our Spiritual Masters we move about in the world as a sthitadhih, remaining stable-minded through all interactions, remaining buoyant through the waves of sukha and duhkha.

Verses discussed:
Bhagavad Gita 2.54, 2.55, 2.56
Srimad Bhagavatam 7.6.3, 11.8.1, 11.19.30

Poojya Swamiji will be taking Bhagavad Gita Verse by Verse in this Satsang (Saturdays). Swamiji is now discussing the second chapter of the Bhagavad Gita.
