Spiritual knowledge is easy to understand, easy to “know”. But to realize the Truth of our Self, to actually become That, is where most of us struggle. Why? Because we continue to be pulled outward, wanting to enjoy something different from our real “I”. The only way out of this trap, says Ma Gurupriya, is through the might of vairagya (dispassion).
Dispassion is not about coming away from the world. Yogavasistha Ramayana shows us that dispassion is the means to live effectively in this world, remaining active externally, while internally being graced by supreme peace and quiet. Ma skillfully weaves the silken threads of shlokas from this monumental scripture, together with those from other texts discussed during previous satsangs, to bring us back to the divine tapestry of what this life is – a beautiful journey back to the abode of tranquility and fearlessness, our very own Self.
