Why are we, despite being on the spiritual path repeatedly listening to words of the Wise, not able to cultivate full vairagya? Ma Gurupriya continues to enlighten us on the indispensable quality of dispassion, showing us very clearly where lies our folly.
It is our attachment to anything other than the imperishable Self that is the root of all misery. As we progress along this path, we feel have developed dispassion towards worldly allurements. But it is the subtle clinging to our own body (and its relationships), thoughts, ideas and expectations that gets us in trouble. How easy it would be to feel dejected and dispirited, if not for the loving encouragement of our Spiritual Masters. As they continue to uplift and propel us forward, we begin to understand that the only thing we should want, is to want nothing.
