Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

11 – Srimad Bhagavatam – Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha – Elixir of Supreme Devotion

3 Views | 3 years ago

Swamiji elaborates further on the shloka 1.1.2 and says that Srimad Bhagavatam is a full knowledge treatise that can sublimate and delight the mind. By listening to the text, ruminating on it, and developing purity and devoutness, one can access the Lord and install Him in one’s heart.

Taking shloka 1.2.11, Swamiji discusses the essence of Srimad Bhagavatam. Swamiji makes a profound analysis of the meaning of non-dual knowledge. All knowledge springs in our own Consciousness which animates and activates our body, says Swamiji.

Revealing the deepest Truth presented right in the text, Swamiji explains that Brahman the Supreme Reality of philosophy, Paramatma the inmost self of spirituality and Bhagavan the great power called God, are none other than the non-dual knowledge. This knowledge can be traced by man inside his own body.

Knowledge is a comprehension, awareness, understanding, realization in us. Our own mind leaves its constrictions and the intelligence rises above all doubts and delusions. Mind becomes pure, intelligence becomes subtle, the heart becomes noble, broad, says Swamiji.

Shlokas discussed: (1.1.2) (1.2.11)
