Ma Gurupriya

049 – by Swamini Ma Gurupriya – Freedom From The Fever Of Worldliness – 2

1221 Views | 3 years ago

As we continue on our spiritual journey, Ma reminds us once again that 'vichara' or truthful introspection is the quintessential part of a seeker's life. Reading scriptures, listening to spiritual discourses are good aids no doubt, but the benefits will accrue only when our mind and intelligence becomes fixed on God.

The mind has the habit of dwelling on the world objects, to brood over the past events or to be apprehensive of the future - with agitation and restlessness as the sure outcome. Instead, with a firm resolve if the mind is made to dwell on the qualities of the Self, one becomes free from the grip of worldliness. So, the mind has to be slowly coaxed into cherishing the eternal happiness bestowed by the seatedness in Self.

But, why do we find it so difficult to fix our mind constantly on God? Ma enlightens us that, it is the deep rooted desires of the mind which hinders our progress. Only when the Supreme, is given the supreme place in our life, we will attain eternal bliss!

Mā's Satsang is entitled 'Towards Eternal Peace and Happiness' based on Bhagavad Gita, Vivekachudamani, Yoga Vasistha Ramayanam and Bhagavatam | | Live Global Satsang with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/ 10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST
