Bhagavadgeeta – A Revolutionary Message - Episode 2

Swamiji clarifies that Hinduism is not a religion but a universal truth about every human, irrespective of race, region, etc. It is a reference to our civilization, thought process, experimental discoveries that happened thousands of years ago.

In their record of experiments done in the subjective field, the rishis who have known the truth declare that we are all children of immortality, but unaware of our heritage. They exhort us through mantras to experiment and realize this truth firsthand. They discovered the great Purusha, the real light beyond all darkness is within our heart. In fact, That Purusha is what we refer to as ‘I’. The Sun reveals everything, but there has to be a revealer to reveal what the Sun reveals. Our Consciousness is that revealer of the external as well as the internal world of emotions, thoughts etc. It is in fact the Viswakarma – the source and substratum of the entire creation.

This non-mystical knowledge, appealing to reason, is enshrined in the Vedas, which is constituted of two sections: 1) Karma Kanda that is comprised of rituals and customs that are subject to change based on the era 2) Jnana Kanda: Vedantic knowledge consisting of Upanishads – the eternal part that will never change as long as human identity remains an aggregate of mind, intelligence and ego.
