Prabhata Rashmih - The Practice of Sadhana

Brahmavidya is a Pursuit of the Mind and Intelligence

Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

  • Brahmavidya is a Pursuit of the Mind and Intelligence

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this track, Swamiji says that Brahmavidya is the only subject discussed in all our spirituo-philosophical literature. The Upanishads speak only about this Supreme Knowledge. The theme of the Bhagavad Gita is also Brahmavidya. The Upanishads were an exposition in the calm environments of the forests whereas Bhagavad Gita was an exhortation in the din and bustle of the Kurukshetra battlefield.

A seeker has to listen to this knowledge from the Guru, then he has to exercise and employ his mind to understand the message and then to imbibe it. The practice is purely inner – mind, intelligence practice. A seeker must close his eyes and contemplate on the words of wisdom given by the Scriptures and the Guru.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

कायेन मनसा बुद्ध्या केवलैरिन्द्रियैरपि ।
योगिनः कर्म कुर्वन्ति सङ्गं त्यक्त्वात्मशुद्धये ।।

Bhagavad Gita 5.11
