Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this track, Swamiji explains that devotion is what the mind and heart feel towards God. They foster a kind of a reliance, a fondness.
True devotional growth is an Inner process where the knowledgeable Intelligence starts interacting with the emotional mind, to bring about more and more purity, expansion and refinement. Such a mind drops all constrictions and ultimately drops possessiveness, ego and desires.
Discussing a verse from Srimad Bhagavatam, Swamiji says that one must be Akinchana (who feels I have nothing and I want nothing). Reflecting thus, we must claim nothing as our own. The senses must be regulated, mind must remain even and uniform.
Swamiji speaks about developing a direct communication with God. A seeker must also have an even attitude to all favorable and unfavorable conditions, fostering a complete reliance on God. A seeker should understand devotion and God and develop it in his own heart and mind and float in the ecstasy of devotion.
The shlokas chanted in the Track:
अकिञ्चनस्य दान्तस्य शान्तस्य समचेतसः ।
मया सन्तुष्टमनसः सर्वाः सुखमया दिशः ॥
Srimad Bhagavatam 11.14.13
