In Bhagavad Gita, human personality is divided into 3 categories – Sattva which is light, happiness and knowledge, Rajas which is about activity stemming from passions and prejudice and tamas which gives rise to ignorance laziness and delusions.

The entire world has these 3 gunas at every point in time at an individual level as well as a cosmic level. Everything is within the fold of Prakriti and its gunas. We must not interfere with them nor add/subtract anything from our end. When we don’t interfere with the gunas, neither adding nor removing, then we become a zero and have the best harmony and integration.

We are within the fold of nature and as we reach a level of zeroness a reshuffling of the gunas takes place, reducing Rajas and tamas and increasing Sattva. Aspirations, ambitions will go, and activities will change.

We are inescapably in the folds of nature and even the effort to increase Sattva comes from ego and Sattva too ultimately has to be dropped. Zeroness is a state where there is no more trying, no more sadhana, samadhi or effort. We become an embodiment of fulfillment and ease.
