Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Quoting from the 12th chapter of Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji says that a devotee is one whom God likes and is pleased with. Keeping this in mind, we must work on improving ourselves. One has to be a devotee that the world is not disturbed and perplexed by, and such a devotee’s behavior, manner and speech should not be repulsive to the society.
Swamiji urges us to keep asking people around us if they are happy with us and at no point of time should we be repelled by anyone in society. The devotee must live in harmony with all kinds of people. People must be complementary and live in mutuality and not be intolerant and irritable. A variety of people with different behaviors and interactions is the best opportunity for us to learn from.
