Sattvaguna is supposed to be the best and the most spiritual in its effect and spiritual influence. It is through sattvaguna that we try to overcome the effect of Rajas and Tamas. Swamiji, in this talk, drives home the message that even sattvaguna is binding. He speaks about how a seeker can overcome the sattva guna effect and become a Gunateeta. The sattvaguna makes one understand the soul, makes one attain purity, but one will find the same sattvaguna reveals the imperfections in the process and the degrees of attainment one still has to have.

Bhagavad Gita speaks about the Saatvika Karta–the enlightened and pure performer. One who is free of delusional clinging and ego, who has will and fervour, who remains unaffected by the success and failure of his effort, is said to a Saatvik performer. Swamiji urges all seekers to reflect on this verse which is the highest, subtlest level of performantial excellence.
