  • Knowledge Pursuit and its Focus on the Mind and Intelligence

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Our Vedic Upanishads discuss the genesis of life, and its fruition and fulfilment. Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha says that God is a concept of the human mind. The God concept also underwent a rational evaluation, examination and research by the ancient Rishis, and ultimately what they found was that the religious God, the spiritual self and the philosophical or scientific reality are exactly the same.

One who knows the supreme reality, Brahman/ God, attains the supreme in human life. So the Knowledge is the ultimate attainment. The knowledge pursuit transpires within the body, in the sphere of mind and intelligence. The intelligence must do the inner examination and research, with impetus given by the mind.
It is not a physical enrichment but a mento-intellectual one. True spiritual seeking lies in understanding that mind is the total focus. Unfortunately there is so much ignorance and delusion that one is not able to comprehend it. Swamiji urges all seekers to coduct a thorough research in the mind.

When the Supreme Truth is realized, the knots of the hearts are cut asunder, all the doubts of the intelligence are dissolved and all the bondage caused by Karma is dissolved. The seeker experiences the joy of ecstasy and freedom in the heart, mind and the intelligence and the mind becomes spatial.
