Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this talk, Swamiji deeply discusses the concept of Yajna through the verses of Bhagavad Gita. In our Vedic culture, the most Sublime and highly rewarding is the performance called Yajna or sacrifice. Sri Krishna takes the concept and extends it to all activities and pursuits.
Yajna is a derivative of the mind, when the mind is free of delusional clinging. Bhagavad Gita says that every activity should be performed in a way of Yajna, or else it will lead to suffering and bondage. Bhagavad Gita is a revolutionary thought process – it asks us to perform any and all activities, removing all delusional clinging, with the Yajna spirit. Yajna makes our life sublime and enriched. Bhagavad Gita becomes a Sadhana – a thinking Sadhana, a remembering Sadhana, a thoughtful Sadhana and a transformation of the mind takes place most naturally, in a facile manner.
When reading and understanding; understanding and remembering; remembering and adhering is done, this itself is a full-fold Sadhana. Pareekshit, Arjuna and Sri Rama–all of them did the Mento-intellectual Sadhana of understanding or inwardly Becoming and Being. Swamiji urges all to take to the Bhagavad Gita and make it a Sadhana, an all-fold pursuit.
