Poise and Contentment in Professional Life
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Right in the beginning, Poojya Swamiji declares “You don’t have to be a professional, life has to be professionally managed”. He also gives the clarion call “Mind building is the call of Human Life”. Swamiji gives several spiritual laws on how to educate, reform and refine the mind to keep it poised and cheerful, facing all the impacts of life. As Swamiji exultingly says, “Contentment is the Human Birthright”. Smile is the tonic easily available for mankind to express joy and contentment.
Quoting from the Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3, Swamiji elaborates the karmic wheel and how no one should ever be lazy, but keep on performing with perseverance, sincerity and wholesome diligence. Swamiji awakens us from a small constricted mindset to an expansive, insightful global being. This transcendence of the mind from an ignorant one to a universal dimension makes it very poised, joyous, contented and cheerful, although ever in activity, but with no expectations. Such a mind is ever unruffled by whatever comes and goes in life, ever cheerfully and tirelessly working with zeal, motivation and inspiration.
