Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this track, Swamiji speaks about what meditation is and what is post-meditational Sadhana.
One cannot always be in meditation. Swamiji says that we meditate because we are unhappy in the wakeful state due to some disturbances or agitations. So, we try to lead the mind to a state of mental absorption and self-restingness whereby this trouble is not there. But the moment we wake up from samadhi, the same old troubles of the world catch up with us and grip us.
In the post-meditational times, during the active and interactive hours we must be able to tackle our mind and make it disturbance free. We must be able to dissolve all agitations and disturbances. One must take away the Dehabhimana and lead oneself to a fulness and absoluteness of Self wisdom, whereby all afflictions, conflicts and obstructions would vanish.
Scriptures speak about the state of Yoga, where one remains untouched by sukha and duhkha, just like a lotus leaf in water. Reflecting upon this, the seeker should treat the affectations at the very moment, making it expansive and spatial, light and airy. Developing this quality of Tattva Vichara and treating the mind of its vagaries right in the very start, one must live one’s life joyfully. One may enjoy meditation, but one must never forget the inner examination and inner integration, which is the real essence of Spirituality.
