Poverty of the Mind
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this talk, Swamiji emphasizes that the poverty of our mind is simply because of our conventional habits, conventional practices and conventional points of view. That mind which is not able to think liberally about matters is a poor mind.
A seeker must address this poverty of mind. He must strive to have a resourceful mind. A resourceful mind is one that is capable of reconciling with and assimilating any kind of external situation. He must understand that every input from the world is meant for enriching and empowering the mind.
A sadhaka must always strive to enrich the mind, through qualities, virtues and excellences. He must try to hear about them, think about them, and reflect upon them. He must try to imbibe them by spending time mentally on noble qualities and virtues. He must cultivate an enriched and resourceful mind.
