Swamiji tells the listeners that the poetic verses stay in one’s memory and continue to inspire. He urges seekers to learn scriptural verses so that they become an operational force in the mind. Repeated repetition of the verses helps one cultivate qualities of the mind and intelligence.

वासनाक्षयविज्ञानमनोनाशा महामते ।
समकालं चिराभ्यस्ता भवन्ति फलदा मुने ।।

(Yogavasishta Ramayanam, Upasama Prakaranam – 5.92.17)

आनन्दं ब्रह्मणो विद्वान् । न बिभेति कुतश्चनेति ।


(Taittiriya Upanishad 2.9)

चित्तस्य शुद्धये कर्म न तु वस्तूपलब्धये ।
वस्तुसिद्धिर्विचारेण न किंचित्कर्मकोटिभिः ।।

(Vivekachudamani 11)

कोऽहं कथमिदं जातं को वै कर्ताऽस्य विद्यते ।
उपादानं किमस्तीह विचारः सोऽयमीदृशः ॥

(Aparokshanubhutih 12)

नित्यानित्यवस्तुविवेकः

(Vivekachudamani 20)

लब्ध्वा कथचिन्नरजन्म दुर्लभं
तत्रापि पुंस्त्वं श्रुतिपारदर्शनम् ।
यस्त्वात्ममुक्तौ न यतेत मूढधीः
स ह्यात्महा स्वं विनिहन्त्यसद्ग्रहात् ।।
