Sadhana is a Pursuit for the Mind, not Reaching a Goal
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
All activities and interactions one performs should be with a Yogic Enrichment and Orientation, says Swamiji.
All worldly and secular activities must be done with a Yogic Orientation, avoiding delusional clinging to the objective results. Externally one may be active and interactive, but internally, in the level of the mind, one must gain yogic sublimation and enrichment. It should be a constant, recurring and unbroken practice.
When faced with duhkha, we should not have any agitation, tension or confusion and in case of sukha we should not have any lingering taste for sukha.
The constant working on oneself makes the mind purer and purer -every day and every action gives an opportunity to practice this yogic Sadhana. Though the Ultimate Goal maybe immortality, the immediate goal is to purify the mind, making it more and more light.
Along with the external object involvements and object interactions, one has to have a subjective sadhana constantly on. When the mind is constantly involved in this pursuit, it imbibes more and more degrees of refinement, purity, lightness and sublimity.
