Sankhya Yoga to reduce Delusional Clinging
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
Swami Bhoomananda Tirthaji discusses the last message of Sri Krishna to Uddhava in Dwaraka, which took place in a peaceful environment. In the 24’th chapter of Mukti Skandha of Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Krishna explains Saankhya Yoga, in which he enumerates the contents of the world, the substance of the world. The idea is only make the mind think.
Normally, our thinking is constricted, but our mind is capable of deeper contemplation regarding the world. The mind can be made flexible, soft, permeating. Due to delusional clinging to worldly things, our perspective becomes narrow, small, and myopic.
Everything in the world is subject to change or extinction. So, what is there to cling to? Introspecting in this manner, one must avoid clinging and attachment. Swamiji urges seekers to focus on the all-pervading consciousness, which is the source of creation. The Consciousness is Supreme and it is already our own real identity. Then why do we cling to and depend on the outside world?
