Sraddha, or Assiduous Application, Another Pre-requisite for the Seeker
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this talk, Swamiji speaks about the prerequisites or Qualifications of a Seeker of Truth. One of the requisite qualities for a seeker of Truth is Sraddha. Sraddha is ‘assiduous application’. Whenever one is able to apply the senses, mind, intelligence and heart towards anything in an assiduous, wholesome, tenacious and persevering manner- then it becomes Shraddha.
The statements made in the Upanishad or Shastras must be very devotionally and respectfully realized, then practiced and pursued, imbibed and actualized by a seeker. Scriptures say that application of the messages of the Guru as well as the Upanishads, is called Sraddha.
Shlokas chanted in the Track:
नित्यानित्यवस्तुविवेकः, इहामुत्र फल भोग विरागः शमादमादि षट्कसम्पत्तिः, मुमुक्षत्वं
