Prabhata Rashmih - The Practice of Sadhana

Sraddha or Assiduous application of mind

  • Sraddha or Assiduous application of mind

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha in this talk gives a wholesome and detailed meaning of the Sanskrit word ‘Shraddha’. He describes it as assiduous, sincere, dedicated attention.

This sensitive attention to the Guru and his words when applied with assiduous attention is Sraddha. Physical exercises when done mechanically, even without attention, produces effective results. However, the mind being sentient has to be used effectively and not mechanically.
