Take to chanting as austerity: Swamiji's childhood practices

Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

  • Take to chanting as austerity: Swamiji's childhood practices

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this track, Swamiji shares with his listeners his own love for chanting Sanskrit hymns and shlokas. Right from childhood, the practice of chanting had a purifying and elevating effect on his mind.

Swamiji exhorts everyone to take to the austerity of chanting Vishnusahasranama or Bhagavad Gita. This austerity has its sublime and creative effect on the mind, whereby the mind goes on becoming purified. Various distractional thoughts are gone and their place is taken over by the recitation.

We come to understand from this talk that somehow we need to steal some time for recitation and build up the stock of austerity.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

Shivaaparadha Kshamapanartha stotram Verse 13

Shivaaparadha Kshamapanartha stotram Verse 12
