Take to Experiential Sadhana

In this talk, Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha quotes Adi Shankaracharya to drive home the point that any sadhana that is non-experential and creates doubts, should be left aside. A seeker’s sadhana should end in a doubt-free mind and intelligence (Nirvikalpa). Nirvikalpa Samadhi is not an absorptional state, or even a thoughtless state like sleep. In fact, it is a state of absolute awareness, of knowing everything, of total fulfillment.

Finally with the sadhana, one recognizes and experiences the 4th factor, which is the same in all experiences, be it in waking, dream and sleep. When the doubtful intelligence leaves all doubts, and remains firm and unflickering, that is the supreme state. So, the supreme state is a state of clarity and the resultant stillness the mind and the intelligence get to.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

Bhagavad Gita 4.40
श्रुतिविप्रतिपन्ना ते यदा स्थास्यति निश्चला ।
समाधावचला बुद्धिस्तदा योगमवाप्स्यसि ॥

Bhagavad Gita 2.53
