  • The Devotional Reliance of Dhruva and Prahlada

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this enlightening Talk, through the examples of the great devotees – Dhruva and Prahlada, Swamiji explains how devotion has to grow and mature in the devotee’s heart and mind. It is the devotee’s firm unflinching resolve, tenacity, perseverance and exclusiveness that makes God a reality.

Through rigorous devotional austerity, Dhruva propitiated Lord Vishnu, who appeared before him. It was because Dhruva’s devotion, That the Lord appeared before Dhruva.

It was Prahlada’s exclusive devotion and total reliance on Lord Hari that the Lord appeared from the pillar and took the form of Narasimha.

Through these narrations, Srimad Bhagavatam, describes not God, but the exclusive devotion of devotees like Dhruva and Prahlada, in order to make all devotee’s minds enriched and uplifted to have all the devotional qualities like them and grow in meaningful devotion.
