Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this message, Swamiji speaks about the relevance of Dana or Charity in the life of a seeker. Dāna is sparing a part of whatever one has for the sake of fulfillment of the needs of others.
Dana is usually done in the material level whereby one gives food, clothing or shelter to the needy people. But there is something more important and greater than the giving of the basic necessities of life. That is knowledge. If one can gift knowledge, that is the best Dana.
When one gives, it primarily benefits the giver. The other man is only a kind of a means for the purpose. So, this dāna is very important in human life, and it has to be ensured, pursued and incorporated in one’s life.
