The Three Virtues - Love, Sympathy and Sacrifice

  • The Three Virtues - Love, Sympathy and Sacrifice

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this talk, Swamiji speaks about the 3 foundational qualities of Love, Sympathy and Sacrifice and how we are supposed to expand beyond the circumference and confines of our family.

The individual is a member of family; the family is a member of the society; and the society a segment of the nation; the nation is a unit of the globe, and it extends beyond. Thus, each individual should realize that there is a mutuality between himself and the rest of creation.

Thus, one must begin by extending love for all. Sympathy is another emotion which can be cultivated by a universal prayer for the welfare, wellbeing and prosperity of one and all. Finally, one can bring in the quality of sacrifice towards one’s own parents and to all fellow beings. One must be ready to make adjustments, in whichever way possible.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

काले वर्षतु पर्जन्यः पृथिवी सस्यशालिनी ।
देशोयं क्षोभरहितः सज्जनाः सन्तु निर्भयाः ।।
