The Truth about the World

In Yoga Vasistha Ramayana, sage Vasishtha says that the entire grossness and solidity that the world appears to present, is not a reality; it is only a myth. The wakefulness, along with the objective universe, disappears in sleep. The whole scenario is within the body. The solidity or grossness attributed to the world objects is not true.

The subject-object distinctions totally disappear in sleep. Like they are disappearing in sleep, in wakefulness also when one starts spiritually introspecting over the truth of substances, there comes a time when the solidity and solid objects completely prove fallacious.

Sage Vasistha says that in the transcendental level, there is neither the world nor the soul different from it; neither the body nor the soul different from it, neither the object nor the subject different from it. In the Supreme state, there is no creation and no dissolution; there is no bondage and no one striving for liberation.
